Approach to Treatment
I am clinically trained in both Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I believe it is important to build a trusting and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship in order to make changes in ones’ life through learning new skills. I take great importance in valuing each individual’s unique differences and life experiences. I use a variety of therapy modalities including individual, couples, and family sessions and honor how the healing process takes place differently for each person. Through development of a solid therapeutic relationship individuals have the opportunity to learn new ways to: regulate strong emotions, build stronger connections with people in their lives, manage life’s pain more effectively, enhance self-confidence, heal pain from the past, and develop skills to approach life choices mindfully.
